Courtey of Lyft

Zombies are taking over pop culture, but now they can take over your ride and office. Lyft is hosting a zombie apocalypse, of sorts, by offering free zombie deliveries or rides driven by zombies. And it’s just in time for Halloween.

On Friday, October 30, New York City and San Francisco will be made undead. From 10 am to 8 pm, you can request zombies to be delivered to your home or office, or even to surprise (scare) a friend. Be sure to meet the zombie so they can be unchained from their dolly to wreak havoc. But the zombies may add a bit of humor to your day as well, since they will all be comedians from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. All of these orders can only be done through Lyft’s app.

Across the US, Lyft will also be offering rides with zombies, thanks to a partnership with The Walking Dead. So hopefully the makeup will be just as realistic as the show’s.

This is just one of the ways companies take advantage of holidays. Let’s not forget that in honor of National Cat Day (yes, that’s a holiday) Uber is delivering kittens today. And Lyft also celebrated the day Marty McFly travelled to the future on October 21 by offering rides in DeLoreans, a la Back to the Future II.

We tried out the service and wrote about it here.
