WalletHub.com released a study on Monday that shows where the most educated people in the U.S. live. The city that came out on top? Ann Arbor, Mich.
The study compared the 150 largest U.S. metropolitan areas and the rankings were based on the following categories: percentage of high school diploma holders; percentage of adults with some college or an associate’s degree; percentage of bachelor’s degree holders; percentage of graduate or professional degree holders; average quality of top universities; difference between percentage of black and white bachelor’s degree holders; difference between percentage of female and male bachelor’s degree holders.
Ann Arbor came in first place for three of these categories, landing it the number 1 spot in “education level” and number 4 in “quality of education & attainment gap.” It clinched the number one spot overall.
Brownsville-Harlingen, Texas, received the 150th spot in “education level” and 141 in education gap, claiming it the last spot on the list.
