Apple is reporting that many of its services are experiencing problems Tuesday, including the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, the iBooks store, iTunes, and the Mac App Store.
The service problems began a little before 10 a.m. ET and continued past noon.
“We are investigating and will update the status as more information becomes available,” Apple wrote on its support page. It has not yet issued a statement explaining the problems, since the investigation is still ongoing.
Apple (AAPL) is scheduled to release a quarterly earnings report later Tuesday afternoon.
Checks by Reuters on several Apple sites in Asia, Europe, and North and South America showed issues with the services.
The tech news blog Apple Insider said the disruption was likely caused by excess traffic due to the announcement of MTV’s 2015 Video Music Awards nominees, which was made exclusively on Apple’s Beats 1 music service.
Update: Apple resolved the issue a little after 1 p.m. EST Tuesday.
