MPW Insider is an online community where the biggest names in business and beyond answer timely career and leadership questions. Today’s answer for: What is your Sunday routine? is written by Shannon Schuyler, U.S. corporate responsibility leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Sundays are my day to enjoy life, revel in my good fortune, and plan for the week ahead—all while in my yoga pants. I’m typically not one for repetitious routines, as I am always concerned about mindless habits taking over my days, but I tend to give myself a pass on Sunday. So here goes:

We start the morning early. This is actually not my choice, but rather the gumption of my toddler who does not have the benefit of blackout shades. First, we head to breakfast. This usually includes some form of coffee, juice, every pork product on the menu, and a couple bites of blueberry pancakes as the fuel for our second stop–the jungle gym at the park. The slide, climbing wall, and monkey bars serve as a warm up for an easy run to come later in the afternoon.

At some point, I carve out a few hours to prepare for the workweek ahead: read articles, think through a tough dilemma, clear out unread messages, and check my calendar to get my bearings. And then finally comes Sunday dinner–the most wonderfully predictable part of the day. Nothing beats pizza and a good bottle of wine with my family.

And for these reasons, I own my Sundays, which makes them by far the best day of the week.
