Apple Watch (nearly) sold out in 30 minutes

April 10, 2015, 7:39 AM UTC

At 4 a.m. Friday morning, Eastern time, an hour after Apple started taking pre-orders for the Apple Watch, a few of the least popular models (e.g. 38 mm Sport/Silver Case/Green Band) still had April 24 ship dates.

The rest were gone.

My order went through at 3:10 a.m., but the one I wanted (42 mm Sport/Space Gray/Black Band) won’t ship for 4-6 weeks.

UPDATE: By 5 a.m., no Sport models were shipping before June. Only one watch — 38mm Stainless Steel Case with Black Classic Buckle — still promised a 4/24-5/8 delivery date.

UPDATE 2: Around 6:00 a.m. the ship date of even that model slipped to 4-6 weeks. The Apple Watch was officially, totally sold out.
