Bill.com, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of integrated bill payment solutions, has raised $38 million in fifth-round funding. Scale Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by Bank of America, American Express, Fifth Third Bank, Pete Kight, Commerce Ventures. Return backers included August Capital, Napier Park Global Capital, TTV Capital, Jafco Ventures, Emergence Capital and DCM. The company has now raised over $70 million in total VC funding. www.bill.com

CustomInk, a Tyson’s Corner, Va.-based custom apparel company founded 14 years ago, has raised $40 million in VC funding from Revolution Growth. www.customink.com

Servergy Inc., a McKinney, Texas-based maker of “green” servers for datacenters, has raised $20 million in Series C funding from firms like The Williams Financial Group. www.servergy.com

FoundationDB, a Vienna, Va.-based developer of transactional NoSQL database software, has raised $17 million in Series A funding. Sutter Hill Ventures led the round, and was joined by CrunchFund and individual angels. The company was founded in 2009. www.foundationdb.com

LendUp, a San Francisco-based developer of an online alternative to traditional payday loans, has raised $14 million in Series A funding. Google Ventures led the round, and was joined by Data Collective and QED Investors. www.lendup.com

SmartThings
, a Washington, D.C.-based developer of a platform for connecting the Internet to everyday items, has raised $12.5 million in Series A funding. Greylock Partners and Highland Capital Partners co-led the round, and were joined by seed backers like First Round Capital, SV Angel and Lerer Ventures. www.smartthings.com

Arrayent, a San Francisco-based provider of virtualization technology for the Internet of Things, has raised $11.9 million in Series B funding. DCM led the round, and was joined by Intel Capital.www.arrayent.com

Scanadu, a personalized health electronics company, has raised $10.5 million in Series A funding.Relay Ventures led the round, and was joined by VegasTechFund and Ame Cloud Ventures.www.scanadu.com

Maxta, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based developer of a virtualization-centric storage platform, has raised $10 million in VC funding from Andreessen Horowitz. www.maxta.com

Quorum
, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of one-click backup, recovery and continuity solutions for the midmarket, has raised $10 million in new VC funding. Toba Capital led the round, and was joined by Airtek Capital Group and individual angels. www.quorum.net

Ripple Labs, a San Francisco-based developer of an open-source, distributed payment protocol, has raised $3.5 million in new VC funding from Core Innovation Capital, Venture 51, Camp One Ventures and IDG Capital Partners. www.ripple.com

itBit, a Singapore-based global platform for trading Bitcoin with U.S. dollars, Singapore dollars and euros, has raised $3.25 million in VC funding. Canaan Partners and RRE Ventures co-led the round, and were joined by Liberty City Ventures and individual angels. www.itBit.com

Futurelytics Inc., a Czech Republic-based prescriptive analytics platform for businesses, has raised $800,000 in seed funding. Index Ventures and Credo Ventures c-led the round, and were joined by Kima Ventures and Rob Keve (ex-CEO of FizzBack). www.futurelytics.com
