SMS Assist, a Chicago-based provider of facilities cleaning and management services software, has raised $45 million in new VC funding from Pritzker Group Venture Capital (f.k.a. New World Ventures). www.sms-assist.com

Sideris Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Boston-based drug startup focused on the treatment of transfusion-related iron overload, has raised $32 million in Series A funding. MPM Capital led the round, and was joined by Hatteras Venture Partners and Osage University Partners. Sideris also has entered into an agreement with Novartis Pharmaceuticals whereby Novartis has an exclusive right to acquire Sideris and its lead asset for upwards of $300 million. www.mpmcapital.com

Pronutria has launched with $10.8 million in Series A funding from Flagship Ventures, which has incubated the company for the past two years. The Cambridge, Mass.-based startup is developing products to improve health and treat significant medical conditions mediated by amino acid biology.www.pronutria.com

Zen Planner
, a Denver-based provider of cloud-based business management software for the health and fitness industry, has raised $10 million in growth equity funding from Mainsail Partners.www.zenplanner.com

Teambox, a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of cloud-based collaboration and business communications solutions, has raised $5 million in Series A funding. Avalon Ventures led the round, and was joined by Data Collective. www.teambox.com

Faction
, a UK-based luxury winter sports brand, has raised $3 million in VC funding led by Octopus Investments. www.factionskis.com

Superpedestrian
, a Boston-based company whose wheel technology transforms bicycles into hybrid e-bikes, has raised $2.1 million in Series A funding. Spark Capital led the round, and was joined by Tumblr founder David Karp. www.superpedestrian.com

OneClass
, a Toronto-based provider of a collaborative textbook and notes platform for university students, has raised US$1.6 million in Series A funding. SAIF Partners led the round, and was joined by seed backer Real Ventures. www.oneclass.com

Unbound
, a UK-based crowdfunding platform for authors and publishers, has raised £1.2 million in new VC funding. DFJ Esprit and Cambridge Angels co-led the round, and were joined by seed backer Forward Investment Partners. www.unbound.co.uk
