JustFab Inc., an El Segundo, Calif.-based fashion ecommerce subscription company, has raised $40 million in Series C funding. Shining Capital Management (Hong Kong) led the round, and was joined by return backers Matrix Partners, Rho Ventures, Technology Crossover Ventures and Intelligent Beauty. Last month, JustFab acquired ShoeDazzle. www.justfab.com

Academia.edu, a Salem, Ore.-based platform for academics to share research papers, has raised $11.1 million in new VC funding. Khosla Ventures led the round, and was joined by Spark Capital and True Ventures. www.academia.edu

DoubleDutch, a San Francisco-based mobile events application platform for the enterprise, has raised $10 million in Series C funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Floodgate Fund and Bullpen Capital. www.doubledutch.me

Swiftype, a San Francisco-based search startup, has raised around $8.7 million in new VC funding, according to a regulatory filing. Seed backers had included New Enterprise Associates, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins and Ignition Partners. NEA’s Jon Sakoda is on the company’s board of directors. www.swiftype.com

BetterCloud, a New York-based provider of enterprise cloud management and security software for Google Apps, has raised $6 million in Series B funding. Flybridge Capital Partners led the round, and was joined by fellow return backers Greycroft Partners, TriBeCa Venture Partners, Bear Creek Capital, Hallett Capital and BLH Venture Partner. www.bettercloud.com

LeadPages, a Minneapolis-based provider of landing page and other website-focused customer lead generation and conversion solutions, has raised $5 million in VC funding. Foundry Group led the round, and was joined by Arthur Ventures. www.leadpages.com

Predilytics, a Burlington, Mass.-based predictive analytics company for healthcare, has raised $4.5 million in new VC funding led by Foundation Medical Partners. www.predilytics.com

Revenew Inc., a Palatine, Ill.-based channel marketing platform, has raised $4.5 million in VC funding, according to a regulatory filing. Backers include Allos Ventures and TGap Ventures. www.revenew.com

Aventura, a Denver–based provider of awareness computing solutions for hospitals, has raised $4.3 million in new VC funding. Return backers include Clarion Direct Investment, Excel Venture Management, HLM Venture Partnersand MemorialCare Innovation Fund. www.aventurahq.com

RidePal
, a San Francisco-based provider of WiFi-enabled bus rides for corporate employees, has raised $3.2 million in Series A funding led by Claremont Creek Ventures and Volvo Group Venture Capital. www.ridepal.com

Burner, an app that lets users create and manage multiple phone numbers for their voice and text communications, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Founder Collective and Venrock.http://brnr.me

Neurotrack, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based developer of behavioral biomarkers to assist with the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, has raised $2 million in Series A funding. Founders Fund led the round, and was joined by The Social+Capital Partnership. www.neurotrack.com

Unsilo, a semantic search startup founded by early Siri employee Mads Rydahl, has raised $1 million in VC funding from Oei and Scale Capital, according to TechCrunch. www.unsilo.com
