Prosper Marketplace Inc., a San Francisco-based peer-to-peer lending platform, has raised $25 million in new VC funding. Existing shareholder Sequoia Capital led the round, and was joined by new investor BlackRock. The company has now raised around $120 million in total VC funding. Urban Compass, a New York-based home rentals platform and related hyper-local social network, has raised $20 million in Series A funding. Advance Publications and Marc Benioff were joined by return backers .406 Ventures, Founders Fund, Goldman Sachs and Thrive Capital. PatientSafe Solutions, a San Diego-based provider of point-of-care patient safety clinical workflow applications, has raised $7 million in new Series C funding from EDBI, the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
