CleverSafe, a Chicago-based provider of dispersed data storage technologies, has raised $55 million in Series D funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, and was joined by fellow return backers like OCA ventures and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. www.cleversafe.com

Birst, a San Francisco-based provider of cloud business intelligence solutions, has raised $38 million in Series E funding. Sequoia Capital led the round, and was joined by fellow return backers Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and DAG Ventures. Modernizing Medicine, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based provider of a cloud-based electronic medical records system that is specialty-specific, has raised $14 million in VC funding from Summit Partners.www.modmed.com

Open Road Integrated Media Inc., a New York-based digital publisher and multimedia content company, has raised $11 million in Series C funding. NewSpring Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Kohlberg Ventures, Azure Capital and Golden Seeds. www.openroadmedia.com

Ambiq Micro, an Austin, Texas-based provider of ultra-low power integrated circuits, has raised $10 million in Series B funding. Austin Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers ARM, Mercury Fund and  Huron River Ventures. www.ambiqmicro.com

Clustrix, a San Francisco-based SQL database engineered for the cloud, has raised $10 million in Series D funding. HighBar Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, ATA Ventures and Don Listwin. www.clustrix.com

IPG, an Atlanta-based provider of implantable device benefit management solutions, has raised $10 million in Series C funding. Camden Partners led the round, and was joined by return backer Sequoia Capital. www.ipg.com

MorphLabs, a Los Angeles-based provider of cloud infrastructure solutions for service providers and the enterprise, has raised $10 million in Series D funding. Tallwood Capital led the round, and was joined by return backer G2iG. www.morphlabs.com

ThirdLove, a photo-based app that helps users find and purchase proper-fitting bras and underwear, has raised $5.6 million in new VC funding. Backers include Andreessen Horowitz, New Enterprise Associates and Novel TMT Ventures. www.thirdlove.com

Newforma, a Manchester, N.H.-based provider of project information management software, has raised $5.1 million in Series B funding. Return backers include North Bridge Venture Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners and Borealis Ventures. www.newforma.com
