Affirmed Networks, an Acton, Mass.-based mobile networking startup, has raised $51 million in Series C funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by KCK Group and return backers Charles River Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, T-Venture and Vodafone Ventures. The company had announced a $52 million round last fall.www.affirmednetworks.com

Akebia Therapeutics, a Cincinnati-based developer of small molecule drugs to treat anemia and cancer, has raised $41 million in Series C funding. Satter Investment Management led the round, and was joined by Novo ASc and return backers Novartis Venture Funds, Kearny Venture Partners, Venture Investors LLC, Athenian Venture Partners, Triathlon Medical Ventures, AgeChem Venture and Sigvion Capital Fund. Instructure, a Salt Lake City-based provider of a cloud-native learning management system and open online courses, has raised $30 million in Series D funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers EPIC Ventures and TomorrowVentures. www.canvas.net

Personal Capital, a San Francisco-based digital wealth management firm, has raised $25 million in Series C funding. Crosslink Capital led the round, and was joined by BlackRock and return backers Institutional Venture Partners and Venrock.  www.personalcapital.com

BitSight Technologies, a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of big data analytics for risk management, has raised $24 million in Series A funding. Backers include Globespan Capital Partners, Menlo Ventures and seed investors Flybridge Capital Partners and Commonwealth Capital Ventures.www.bitsighttech.com

Cheetah Medical Inc., a developer of non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring systems, has raised $14.5 million in new VC funding. Backers include Springfield Investments, Ascension Health Ventures, MVM Life Science Partners and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. The Israel-based company has a U.S. office in Vancouver, Wash. www.cheetah-medical.com

Wireless Seismic Inc., a Sugar Land, Texas-based provider of real-time and cable-less seismic data acquisition systems for the oil and gas industry, has raised $12.5 million in new VC funding. Total Energy Ventures was joined by return backers Chesapeake Energy and Energy Ventures.www.wirelessseismic.com

YPlan, a London-based developer of a mobile app for last-minute event information and booking, has raised $12 million in Series A funding. General Catalyst Partners led the round, and was joined by A-Grade, Kevin Colleran, Dave Morin, Shakil Khan and return backers Wellington Partners and Octopus Investments. www.yplanapp.com

Fastly, a San Francisco-based provider of web acceleration solutions, has raised $10 million in Series B funding from August Capital. It previously was seeded by Amplify Partners, Battery Ventures and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures. www.fastly.com

Scripted.com, a San Francisco-based online marketplace for custom marketing content, has raised $4.5 million in Series A funding co-led by Crosslink Capital and Redpoint Ventures.www.scripted.com

Playtox, a Russian mobile gaming developer of multi-platform browser-based multiplayer mobile games, has raised $3 million in VC funding from Runa Capital. www.playtox.com

OMsignal, a Montreal-based developer of bio-sensing clothing, has raised C$1 million in seed funding from Golden Venture Partners, Real Ventures and David Cohen. www.omsignal.com

MIOX Corp., an Albuquerque-based maker of systems that provide on-demand disinfection chemistry, has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding from TEL Venture Capital, the VC arm of Tokyo Electron Ltd. It previously raised around $19 million from DCM, Flywheel Ventures and Sierra Ventures.www.miox.com

Vigilent, an El Cerrito, Calif.-based developer of energy management systems for buildings with “hot” electronic equipment like data centers, has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding from TELUS Ventures. www.telus.com

InsightSquared, a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of a salesforce analytics product for SMEs, has raised $8 million in Series B funding. Draper Fisher Jurvetson led the round, and was joined by return backer Atlas Venture. www.insightsquared.com

Surf Air
, a subscription-based “all you can fly” airline for business travelers, has raised $7 million in Series B funding. Velos Partners and Base Ventures co-led the round, and were joined by Anthem Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates. www.surfair.com

Shopmium
, a French mobile shopping service, has raised $5.6 million in Series B funding. Ventechwas joined by return backers Accel Partners and ISAI. www.shopmium.com

Dexplora, a Swedish mobile app for improving the user experience of CRM systems, has raised $1.2 million in VC funding from Creandum and DN Capital. www.dexplora.com

Tiger Global Management has invested more than $30 million in a secondary share deal for event ticketing company Eventbrite, according to Reuters. The move comes after Tiger participated in a $60 million VC funding round for the company, which has raised over $130 million in total direct funding from Tiger, T. Rowe Price, Sequoia Capital, European Founders Fund and Tenaya Capital.www.eventbrite.com
