Pearson PLC confirmed that it will merge its Penguin book publishing group with Random House, which currently is owned by Bertelsmann AG. Bertelsmann would hold a 53% stake in the merged company. (TSX: DHX) has completed its previously-announced acquisition of Cookie Jar Entertainment, a Toronto-based producer of children’s animated television programs, from shareholders like Birch Hill Equity Partners, Chapman Capital, Heartland Advisors and OMERS Private Equity.
