Health Care REIT Inc. (NYSE: HCN) has agreed to acquire nursing home operator Sunrise Senior Living Inc. (NYSE: SRZ) for approximately $845 million in cash, or $14.50 per share (62.4% premium to Tuesday’s closing price.
Siemens Healthcare (NYSE: SI) has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Penrith Corp., a Plymouth Meeting, Penn.-based maker of ultrasound imaging systems. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which is expected to close next month. www.penrithcorp.com
