BC Partners and CPP Investment Board have agreed to acquire Cequel Communications Holdings (a.k.a. Suddenlink), the 7th-largest U.S. cable system operator, from an investor group that includes Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, Quadrangle Group and Oaktree Capital Management. The deal values Cequel at $6.6 billion, which is 8.6x Q1 2012 EBITDA. The deal’s equity tranche, which includes commitments from company management, is just shy of $2 billion.

ACON Investments has acquired Suzo-Happ Group, a Mt. Prospect, Ill.-based supplier of components and accessories to the gaming, amusement and industrial markets. No financial terms were disclosed. PfingstenPartners was the seller. www.suzohapp.com

Highstar Capital has agreed to acquire the U.S. solid waste unit of France’s Veolia Environnement for $1.9 billion. The deal is subject to regulatory approval, and is expected to close by year-end. www.veolia.com

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners has acquired Mander Portman Woodward Ltd., a London-based provider of private education for students between secondary school and college, from a subsidiary of Apollo Group Inc. (Nasdaq: APOL). No financial terms were disclosed. www.llcp.com

Riverstone Holdings
has committed up to $500 million in private equity funding for Meritage Midstream Services II, a Golden, Colo.-based group that will develop midstream systems to serve producers of natural gas and natural gas liquids. www.meritagemidstream.com

Webster Capital
has sponsored a recapitalization of Industrial Color Brands, a New York-based creative production firm. No financial terms were disclosed. ICB was advised on the deal by Carl Marks Advisory Group. www.industrialcolor.com

Wow, a residential and commercial communications provider controlled by Avista Capital Partners, has completed its previously-announced take-private acquisition of Knology Inc., a provider of interactive communications and entertainment services in the southeastern and midwestern U.S. The deal was valued at approximately $1.5 billion, or $19.75 per Knology share. www.knology.com

CIS Secure Computing Inc., a Sterling, Va.–based provider of secure communications and computing solutions to defense and civilian agency customers, has raised an undisclosed amount of equity funding from Bluestone Investment Partners. www.cissecure.com

Haystax Technology Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of analytics, visualization and cyberspace solutions for handling data volume increases, has launched with an undisclosed amount of equity funding from Edgewater Funds. www.haystaxtechnology.com

J.H. Whitney has acquired TIDI Products LLC, a Neenah, Wis.-based provider of disposable infection prevention products used by physicians, dentists and in acute care settings. No financial terms were disclosed. Sellers include Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co. www.whitney.com

TSG Consumer Partners has invested an undisclosed amount of private equity into Paige Denim, a Los Angeles-based “affordable luxury brand” focused on denim products. www.tsgconsumer.com

Bionexo, a Sao Paulo, Brazil-based electronic business community for the Latin American and European healthcare industries, has raised an undisclosed amount of growth equity funding from Insight Venture Partners. www.bionexo.com.br

Charterhouse Capital Partners has agreed to acquire BARTEC, a German maker of industrial safety tools, from Capvis Equity Partners. No financial terms were disclosed, but Bloomberg reports that the price may have been in excess of €600 million. www.bartec.de

Charter Facility Services Inc., a facilities management acquisition platform sponsored by Charterhouse Group, has acquired Empire Facilities Management Group Inc. and A-OK Security and Maintenance Inc.No financial terms were disclosed. www.charterhousegroup.com

Correct Care Solutions LLC, a portfolio company of Audax Group and Frazier Healthcare has agreed to acquire Conmed Healthcare Management (NYSE Amex: CONM), a provider of correctional facility healthcare services to juvenile and adult county detention centers. The deal has an equity value of approximately $59 million, or $3.95 per share. www.conmedinc.com

Luminator Technology Group LLC, a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, has acquired DRI Corp., a Dallas-based maker of passenger information communication products. No financialterms were disclosed. www.digrec.com

Investcorp has acquired a 30% stake in Orka, a Turkish retailer of men’s apparel. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which was done out of Investcorp’s Gulf Opportunities Fund.. www.investcorp.com

Supervalue Inc.  (NYSE: SVU) is expected to begin sending out financial information this week for a possible sale, according to the WSJ. Possible suitors include Cerberus Capital Management, KKR and TPG Capital. The grocery chain currently is valued at $524 million.
