BioAmber Inc., a Minneapolis-based maker of bio-based succinic acid, has raised $30 million in Series C funding. Lanxess was joined by return backers Naxos Capital, Sofinnova Partners, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and the Cliffton Group. The company currently is in registration for a $150 million IPO. www.bio-amber.com

Wheelz, a P2P car-sharing company targeting college campus communities, has raised $13.7 million in Series A funding. Zipcar Inc. led the round, and was joined by Fontinalis Partners. www.wheelz.com

Integrated Diagnostics (InDi), a Seattle-based developer of protein-catalyzed capture agents for use in in vivo molecular imaging and therapeutics, has secured $10 million in new Series A funding. The investment was triggered by the achievement of certain clinical milestones. nScaled, a San Francisco-based provider of recovery-as-a-service solutions, has raised $7 million in Series A funding from Almaz Capital and Doughty Hanson Technology Ventureswww.nscaled.com

Lumesis Inc., a Stamford, Conn.-based developer of data and robust analytical tools for the fixed income market, has raised $2.5 million in Series A funding. Safeguard Scientifics led the round, and was joined by NextStage Capital and angel Jim Ashton. www.lumesis.com
