Roka Bioscience, a Warren, N.J.-based developer of an automated molecular instrument for food pathogen detection, has secured $47.5 million in Series D funding. Aisling Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers OrbiMed Advisors, New Enterprise Associates and TPG Biotech. The round is tranched out with an initial $27.5 million already called down. www.rokabio.com

BuzzFeed, a New York-based social media aggregator, has raised $15.5 million in Series C funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, and was joined by return backers Lerer Ventures, Hearst Media, Softbank Capital and RRE Ventures. www.buzzfeed.com

Maxymiser, a New York-based provider of multivariate testing, personalization and optimization solutions, has raised $12 million in Series B funding. Investor Growth Capital led the round, and was joined by return backer Pentech Ventures. www.maxymiser.com

Trapit, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based Internet search tool, has raised $6.2 million in Series A funding. Horizon Ventures led the round. The company also has added Rob Majteles, managing partner of Treehouse Capital and a venture partner with Oak Investment Partners, to its board of directors. www.trap.it

Blend Therapeutics, a Watertown, Mass.-based developer of combination medicines, has raised and undisclosed amount Series A funding. Backers include Flagship Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and NanoDimension. VentureWire reports that the round came in at $2.8 million, with plans to raise a $15 million Series B round later this year. www.blendtx.com
