Crescendo Bioscience, a South San Francisco-based developer of quantitative biomarker tests for rheumatoid arthritis, has raised $31 million in Series C funding. Aeris Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers like Mohr Davidow Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The company also secured a $25 million in non-dilutive debt capital from Myriad Genetics, which is structured as a three-year option for Myriad to acquire Crescendo Bioscience for a predetermined multiple of revenue.www.crescendobio.com

IP Commerce, a Denver-based platform-as-a-service that acts as an OS for commerce, has raised $20.7 million in growth capital funding. Intel Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Meritage Funds, Venrock, TTV Capital, Fifth Third Processing Solutions and Iron Gate Capital.www.ipcommerce.com

RingCentral, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of cloud business phone systems and services, has raised $10 million in Series D funding. Scale Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Sequoia Capital, Khosla Ventures, Cisco, DAG Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank. HookLogic, a New York-based SaaS platform that integrates paid media programs with e-commerce retailers, has raised $9.5 million in VC funding from Bain Capital Ventures. It is the six-year-old company’s first round of institutional financing. www.hooklogic.com

Backupify, a cloud-based data backup service, has raised $5 million in Series B funding. Avalon Ventures led the round, and was joined by General Catalyst Partners and Lowercase Capital.www.backupify.com

Lending Club, a Redwood City, Calif.-based P2P platform for personal loans, said that Thomvest has acquired an equity stake. The deal is part of a larger transaction in which Thomvest founder Peter J. Thompson will become a cornerstone investor in a new fund that will invest in the two highest grades of 36-month consumer loans originated through the Lending Club platform. Lending Club previously raised over $77 million from Union Square Ventures, Canaan Partners, Foundation Capital, Morgenthaler Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners. www.lendingclub.com

Aquion Energy Inc., a Pittsburgh-based developer of water-based sodium ion batteries, has secured $30 million in Series B funding. Foundation Capital led the round, and was joined by Advanced Technology Ventures, TriplePoint Capital and return backer Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Qosmos, a Paris-based provider of network intelligence technology, has raised €19.8 million in new equity and debt financing. Backers include DFJ Esprit, Fonds Stratégique d’Investissements and Alven Capital. Part of the deal’s equity was a secondary purchase of shares previously held by Sofinnova.www.qosmos.com

FullContact, a Denver-based API that automatically updates personal contact information, has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding, according to TechCrunch. Backers include 500 Startups, High Country Ventures, SK Ventures, Zelkova Ventures and BulletTime Ventures.

Echoecho, a Los Angeles-based provider of a location-based mobile app for finding friends, has raised $750,000 in seed funding from Google Ventures and ProFounders Capitalwww.echoecho.com

TrueCar, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based publisher of real-time new and used vehicle transaction data, has raised over $200 million in private equity and debt financing (around an even split). Equity participants include GSV Asset Management, Allen & Co., Passport Capital, McCombs Family Partners, Keating Capital, DealerTrack, International Investment House, USAA, Capricorn Investment Group and GRP Partners. Silicon Valley Bank arranged the debt. In related news, TrueCar has acquired CarPerks, a provider of auto purchasing and leasing programs for businesses. TrueCar CEO Scott Painter told Reuters that his company plans to go public in the first half of 2012. www.truecar.com
