Personal Capital, a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of personalized money management services, announced that it has raised a total of $25 million in Series A and Series B funding. Institutional Venture Partners participated in both rounds, while Venrock led the Series B. www.personalcapital.com

Aquion Energy Inc., a Pittsburgh-based developer of water-based sodium ion batteries, has secured $20 million of a $30 million Series B round, according to a regulatory filing. Return backers includeFoundation Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. VentureWire reports that the full round is expected to close shortly. www.aquionenergy.com

Embrane, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based developer of a distributed software platform for powering on-demand elastic network services, has raised $18 million in Series B funding. New Enterprise Associates led the round, and was joined by return backers Lightspeed Venture Partners and North Bridge Ventures. The company previously raised $9 million. www.enbrane.com

EnergyHub Inc., a New York-based provider of home energy management software and systems, has raised $14.5 million in Series B funding. Acadia Woods and the New York City Investment Fund were joined by return backers .406 Ventures and Physic Ventures. www.energyhub.com

Aleva Neurotherapeutics, a Swiss developer of deep brain stimulation implants for neurological indications such as Parkinson´s disease or depression, has raised €9.5 million in Series A funding. BioMedInvest and BB Biotech Ventures co-led the round, and was joined by Initiative Capital Romandie. The company was founded in 2008 as a spinout from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) Microsystems Laboratory. www.aleva-neuro.com

Vizibility Inc., a New York-based provider of a personal branding platform for individuals and companies, has raised $1.3 million in seed funding. Launchpad Venture Group led the round, and was joined by Boston Harbor Angels, New York Angels and TiE Angels. www.vizibility.com

Dealer.com, a Burlington, Vt.-based provider of online market solutions for the automotive sector, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Accel Partners. www.dealer.com

THURSDAY, AUGUST 25

Awarepoint Corp., a San Diego-based provider of real-time location system solutions for the healthcare market, has raised $27 million in Series F funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, and was joined by Top Tier Capital Partners and return backers Cardinal Partners, Venrock, and Jafco Ventures. www.awarepoint.com

Bleacher Report, a San Francisco-based sports media website, has raised $22 million in new VC funding. Oak Investment Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Crosslink Capital and Hillsven Capital. www.bleacherreport.com

CouchSurfing, an online network through which people find and offer couches on which to spend the night, has raised $7.6 million in first-round funding. Benchmark Capital led the round, and was joined by Omidyar Network. CouchSurfing is a seven-year-old company that recently changed from non-profit to for-profit. www.couchsurfing.com

Virsto Software, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of storage solutions for virtual servers and desktop, has raised $5 million in new Series B funding. The round total is now $17 million. Southern Cross Venture Partners and Correlation Ventures provided the new capital, while earlier funding came from August Capital, Canaan Partners and InterWest Partners. www.virsto.com

ClearEdge Power, a Hillsboro, Ore.-based fuel cell manufacturer, has raised $73.5 million in Series E funding. Artis Capital Management led the round, and was joined by Güssing Renewable Energy, Southern California Gas Co. and return backers Kohlberg Ventures. www.clearedgeppower.com

Druva, a provider of enterprise laptop backup and retrieval solutions, has raised $12 million in Series B funding. Nexus Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backer Sequoia Capital. www.druva.com

MakerBot Industries, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based maker of low-cost commercial 3D printers, has raised $10 million in VC funding led by Foundry Group.

6connect, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based network automation platform to help clients transition from IPv4 to IPv6, has raised $2 million in Series A funding led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. www.6connect.com

Moat, a search engine for online display ads, has raised $1.5 million in first-round funding. SV Angel led the round, and was joined by First Round Capital, Founders Fund, Lerer Ventures, Founder Collective and Vast Ventures. Moat was founded by ex-Right Media CEO Mike Walrath, www.moat.com

TUESDAY, AUGUST 23

Pure Storage, a Mountain View, Calif.-based all-flash enterprise storage company, has raised $30 million in Series C funding. Backers include Redpoint Ventures, Greylock Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and individual angels. The company previously raised around $25 million. www.purestorage.com

Fluidnet Corp., an Amesbury, Mass.-based developer of IV infusion systems, has raised $25 million in Series C funding. Fidelity BioSciences led the round, and was joined by SCP Vitalife Partners and return backers Cardinal Partners, Easterly Capital and Rockport Venture Partners. www.fluidnet.net

Cleveland HeartLab Inc., a cardiology-focused clinical laboratory and disease management company, has raised $18.4 million in Series B funding. Excel Venture Management and HealthCare Ventures co-led the round, and were joined by return backers Frantz Medical Ventures, Glengary LLC, Second Generation of Iowa and Zapis Capital Group. www.clevelandheartlab.com

Hudong.com, a Chinese-language encyclopedia wiki, has raised $15.6 million in third-round funding. No investor information was disclosed. The company previously raised around $30 million from firms likeDraper Fisher Jurvetson and Northern Light Venture Capital. www.hudong.com

NextDocs Corp., a King of Prussia, Penn.-based provider of Microsoft Sharepoint-based software solutions for the life sciences market, has raised $10.3 million in Series A funding from OpenView Venture Partners. www.nextdocs.com

Autifony Therapeutics Ltd., a UK-based biotech company focused on hearing loss, has raised up to £10 million in funding to help spin out of GlaxoSmithKline. GSK will retain a 25.4% ownership stake in the company, and participated in the financing. Other backers were Imperial Innovations and SV Life Sciences. www.gsk.com

Wanova Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of turnkey cloud desktop software, has raised $10 million in Series B funding from Greylock Partners, Carmel Ventures and Opus Capital.www.wanova.com

Spinifex Pharmaceuticals, an Australian pain drug development company, has raised A$6.25 million in new Series B funding. The round now stands at A$18.25 million, based on a prior closing. Backers include GBS Venture Partners Limited, Brandon Capital Partners Pty Limited, Uniseed Management and UniQuest. www.spinifexpharma.com.au

TST Media, a Minneapolis-based developer of digital tools to let organizations better engage their audience, has raised $3.5 million in VC funding led by El Dorado Ventures. www.tstmedia.com

MONDAY, AUGUST 22

nLight, a Vancouver, Wash.-based maker of high-powered semiconductor lasers, has raised $17.5 million in Series E funding. Return backers include Oak Investment Partners, Mohr Davidow Ventures, and Menlo Ventures. www.nlight.net

Sentilla Corp., a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of provider of IT infrastructure software for data center workloads, has raised $15 million in Series C funding. SingTel Innov8 Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers ONSET Ventures and Claremont Creek Ventures. www.sentilla.com

Hopper, a Montreal-based “big data” travel company founded by ex-Expedia employees, has raised US$8 million in second-round funding. Atlas Venture led the round, and was joined by return backer Brightspark Ventures. www.hopper.travel

6Fusion, a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of utility-metered cloud infrastructure management software, has raised $7 million in Series B funding. Grotech Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backer Intersouth Partners. www.6fusion.com

Spectraseism, a Zurich-based provider of seismic data acquisition and processing solutions, has raised CHF 2.8 million from a subsidiary of Credit Suisse Group. www.spectraseis.com
