Greetings, Salutations & Solicitations

Hi. My name is Dan, and I’m a financial blogger.

As some (many?) of you know, I’ve spent the past decade or so with Thomson Reuters and its various pre-merger predecessors. Most of that was spent writing a morning email column for the private market masses (venture capital and private equity), plus launching a website called peHUB. Pretty sure I was also listed as a contributing editor to various trade magazines, but those contributions were mostly limited to reading the mags after publication.

Beginning today, however, I’m thrilled to be fulltime here at Fortune.com. My focus will remain on private market deals and deal-makers, with a hefty dose of public M&A sprinkled in. Someone once called my style a love child of The Economist and People, and I see no reason to stop raising her.

There also will be a new daily email called The Term Sheet, which you can sign up for by going here.

Finally, most of my day is spent doing original reporting. Sometimes I fail and fall into pure commentary, but my general goal is to tell you something you don’t already know. So if you’ve ever got any news tips or other such items, please shoot me an email at dan_primack@fortune.com. Don’t worry, requests for confidentiality will be honored.

Okay, enough chit-chat. Time to get to work…
