Matt Higgins

Higgins served as the Press Secretary to the Mayor of New York during 9/11 and in the aftermath of the attacks, he helped stand up and ultimately serve as Chief Operating Officer of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC), the $2 billion federally funded government agency tasked with planning and overseeing the rebuilding of the 16-acre World Trade Center site.

Mr. Higgins later transitioned into the private sector and spent 15 years affiliated with the National Football League, overseeing business operations for two NFL franchises, and served as Vice Chairman of the Miami Dolphins from 2012 - 2021. In 2015, RSE Ventures made one of the first seed investments into the Drone Racing League (DRL). Years later, Mr. Higgins and his cofounders recognized that DRL’s drone technology was of vital importance to national security. In 2020, PDW was spun out in Huntsville, Alabama to develop drone capabilities for the American warfighter.

Higgins appeared on the hit ABC show Shark Tank seasons 10-11 as a recurring Shark and was the first to appear on both Shark Tank U.S and Shark Tank Dubai. Higgins is an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School, where he co-teaches “Moving Beyond Direct-to-Consumer.” Mr. Higgins received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, joining the ranks of seven former U.S. presidents, Nobel Prize winners, and other leaders recognized for their work to improve society. He is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of “Burn the Boats”.
