Cassie was a staff editor at Fortune covering personal finance. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Northern Kentucky University and is a certified SCRUM master—and few things bring her more joy than tinkering with a spreadsheet and bending it to her will.

Cassie’s passion lies in equipping individuals and families with the financial knowledge they need to achieve success. She strives to find the answers that will not just help them survive but thrive in constantly-changing environments. She was formerly the treasurer of Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation, a 501(c)3 that operates with the intent to educate, entertain and inspire past, current and future generations by operating historic rail equipment, with the intent of stimulating economic growth in rural Appalachia.

In her rare moments of free time she’s a lover of fantasy novels—Tolkien and Sanderson are favorites—a Lego collector, and board game enthusiast. Her husband and kids are her world.
