  • JPMorgan has released its annual summer reading list. This year’s list has 16 recommendations, a jump from the usual 10. Selections include works by Melinda French Gates and Alex Karp.

Summer reading for many people might be about thrillers and trashy romances, but if you’re looking to improve your station in life, JPMorgan has a few suggestions.

The financial institution’s annual summer reading list, which has become a go-to beach-book selection for the wealthy, offer 16 books to chose from this year, ranging from Melinda French Gates’ autobiography and thoughts on philanthropy to Palantir CEO Alex Karp’s predictions for the future of AI.

That’s an increase from previous years, which typically saw 10 selections. This year’s list also suggests some summer experiences, including the Hill Family Estate in Napa and seeing Maybe Happy Ending on Broadway.

“Our 2025 Summer Reading List is a celebration of curiosity’s boundless power,” said Darin Oduyoye, chief communications officer of J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, in a statement. “This year’s selections challenge us to think and explore boldly. With topics ranging from personal values to innovative frontiers such as AI, electric vehicles and the universe’s wonders—this list is designed to inspire growth and forward-thinking.”
