As Hurricane Milton bears down on the west coast of Florida, the headquarters for Donald Trump’s social media platform could be in its path.

Trump Media, which is the parent company of Truth Social, is headquartered in Sarasota, Fla.—which is currently right in the center of the storm’s projected path.

Trump does not own the office and it’s unknown how many people work from that location, which was listed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this month.

Milton is currently a strong Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 145 mph. Hurricane force winds extend 30 miles from the center of the storm. It’s currently forecast to be a Category 3 storm when it hits the Florida coast Wednesday night.

While Trump Media could have a rough next few days, Trump’s crown jewel in Florida—his Mar-a-Lago resort, as well as several golf courses—is likely to survive the storm with little to no damage. All are currently outside of Milton’s expected path, though their area is currently under a tropical storm warning, due to the size of the storm. Officials in both Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties have filed a local state of emergency as a precaution.

Trump Media shares have been rebounding steadily in recent days after the expiration of a lock-up period did not see Trump selling his shares in the company. Other insiders have sold off their holdings, but investors have shrugged that off. Shares were up 6% in midmorning trading Tuesday and have rebounded 65% from the low they hit earlier this month.

Fortune Global Forum returns Oct. 26–27, 2025 in Riyadh. CEOs and global leaders will gather for a dynamic, invitation-only event shaping the future of business. Apply for an invitation.
