If you’ve been procrastinating on your taxes, it’s time to get busy. Tax Day 2022 is upon us—and odds are if you’re just getting around to filing your 2021 returns today, you’re not expecting to get a refund from the IRS.

Giving money to the government is never a fun way to start the week, but it doesn’t have to mean the day is completely ruined. To mark the occasion, restaurants and other businesses have traditionally offered a variety of freebies and discounts.

And while the aftereffects of the pandemic and sharp rise in inflation have cut back on some of the deals in 2022, that doesn’t mean they’ve disappeared. Here are a few to look for while you’re out and about today:

Free and cheap food for Tax Day 2022

Great American Cookies

Get a free chocolate chip cookie with purchase, both online and in-store.

Marble Slab Creamery

Participating locations are offering members of the Slab Happy rewards program a free small ice cream with the purchase of a regular or Best Value–size purchase.

Hooters

Kids eat free at the chain. Well, technically, dependents eat free. Kids under 12 receive a free Hooters kids meal with any purchase of $15 or more.

Kona Grill

Get two margaritas for $10.40 all day.

7-Eleven

Order any pizza through the 7NOW delivery option for just $5.

Kona Ice

As part of its “No taxation without relaxation” day, the company is offering a free shaved ice to everyone on Monday only.

Other Tax Day 2022 freebies

Planet Fitness

From April 15–18, members and nonmembers get a free workout and HydroMassage. You’ll need this coupon to redeem in-club.

Office Depot/Office Max

The office supply chains are offering free shredding up to five pounds of documents with coupon through April 23, 2022. Get coupon from their website.

Southwest Airlines

Earn 1,000 Rapid Rewards points when you file with TurboTax.
