Over the past five weeks, there have been two major holidays that required extensive time in the kitchen. And if you threw a holiday party, you likely spent several additional hours preparing food. So the thought of cooking on New Year’s Day has very little appeal.

Whether you’re tired of the oven, just plain tired or looking to quiet the hangover from your New Year’s Eve party, you’ve got lots of options. A large number of restaurant chains are open on Jan. 1 and welcoming customers.

Note that hours may vary, so it’s always a good idea to call first. But if you need a bite to eat, here are a few places to try.
