After suffering several major data breaches, Yahoo is looking to settle a class action lawsuit, and that could put between $100 and $358 in the pockets of people whose accounts were impacted.

Yahoo has established a website for people who want to enter a claim and see if they’re included in the $117.5 million settlement. In order to qualify, people must have had a qualifying Yahoo account between 2012 and 2016. Qualifying accounts include Yahoo Mail, Fantasy Sports, Finance, Tumblr and Flickr.

People have until July 20, 2020 to file a claim. It’s important to note that, just like the Equifax claim settlement, the actual payout amounts could be substantially less than the website says they will. Claimants in that case were told they’d receive $125 each, but the volume of claims that flooded the credit monitoring site meant cash payouts will ultimately be significantly lower.

Yahoo says claimants can receive two years of credit monitoring from AllClearID or a cash settlement. Those claims are slated for $100, but the site warns “payment for such a claim may be less than $100.00 or more (up to $358.80) depending on how many Settlement Class Members participate in the Settlement.”

If you suffered expenses associated with the breach, Yahoo is offering up to $25,000 in reimbursement for documented cases.
