Democrats including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Women’s Working Group will hold a press event for International Women’s Day on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
The group wants to honor the day which celebrates women annually as well as ‘A Day Without A Woman’ which encourages working women to strike to highlight the impact of women on the economy, according to the Associated Press.
Participants also include House Representatives Linda Sanchez, Cheri Bustos, and Lois Frankel. The group said they want to “renew their commitment to women’s rights and equality in America and across the globe,” the AP reports.
