It’s the small things. At least that seems to be the logic behind Uber’s newest rating feature, Compliments. Aptly released during the week of Thanksgiving, the new feature gives riders more options for thanking their drivers.
Now when you give your Uber driver a five-star rating, you will be prompted with two additional options—badges and thank-you notes. You can choose a badge to give your driver, which provides specific compliments such as “Great conversation,” “Cool car,” and “Awesome music.” You’ll also have the option to write a personalized thank-you note.
“We want to give riders the opportunity to thank and recognize drivers for the things they do to make the experience more memorable and fun,” Uber wrote in a press release Monday. “It’s a small step we’re taking to make saying thank you easier for riders and to celebrate drivers.”
Without the advantage of employee benefits, Uber is trying to make itself more appealing to drivers. In addition to Compliment, the company recently partnered up with Dignity Health and GoHealth to offer resources including health classes and discounted health care services.
