A 20-year-old Connecticut man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to bomb a Donald Trump rally, authorities said Sunday.
Connecticut State Police said Sean Taylor Morkys is accused of writing a tweet on Saturday that said: “Is someone going to bomb the trump rally or am I going to have to?” In another tweet, he allegedly warned a friend to tell his family members to leave the rally so they wouldn’t be harmed, authorities said.
The U.S. Secret Service alerted local authorities of the public posts and later found Morkys “did not pose an immediate threat” after interviewing him at his Waterbury home.
The Waterbury man faces charges, including threatening and inciting injury to person or property. He was released on a $25,000 bond and is due in Waterbury Superior Court next week, authorities said.
