The website was told that the animation options will range from koi fish to colorful smoke.
A picture of the new iPhone 6S Plus box was recently leaked, and it featured a picture of a golden koi fish as the phone’s background, adding believability to the rumors.
9To5Mac’s sources warned that the animated wallpaper feature may be dropped before the iPhone 6S officially launches, but the site speculates that the presence of the fish on the packaging materials suggest the feature has been finalized.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6S on September 9.
