At Germany’s Dusseldorf airport, a robotic valet is helping fliers park and retrieve their cars. It’s not a humanoid driver, rather, a parking bay that lifts up your car and slots it into a spot.
The automated forklift truck allows travelers to drop the car off in the designated area before lifting the car up and dropping it in place. You can also notify the robot from your smartphone when you’ve landed, and RAY will deliver your car for you.
Serva Transport, the German maker of the so-called RAY, says the space-saving system can park 60% more cars than a human driver.
Dusseldorf’s airport charges 29 euros a day or 4 euros an hour for the service, CNN reports.
