You can add Burger King to the list of companies publicly supporting LGBT rights.
In honor of LGBT pride week, the fast food company is offering a “Proud Whopper” wrapped in rainbow packaging at one San Francisco franchise. The restaurant is located along the route of last Sunday’s Gay Pride Parade.
The Proud Whopper is also featured in a short film highlighting people’s reactions to it, which was posted to Youtube Wednesday.
The Whoppers inside the packaging aren’t any different from your average Whopper, and that’s the point: Once opened, the wrapper reads: “We are all the same inside.”
As LGBT acceptance has been mainstreamed in the past few years, many corporations have released promotional material showing their support. Nabisco, for example, supported the Pride Parade a few years ago with an ad featuring an Oreo with rainbow filling.
