Kobalt Music Group, a UK-based music royalties collection platform, has raised $140 million in new funding from such firms as Balderton Capital and MSD Capital, according to TechCrunch.
Yext, a New York-based provider of geomarketing software to local businesses and large enterprises, has raised $50 million in new VC funding. Insight Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Sutter Hill Ventures and Institutional Venture Partners. Yext previously raised around $65 million.
Invaluable, a Boston-based online live auction marketplace, has raised $33.75 million in Series D funding. Insight Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Ascent Venture Partners and Commonwealth Capital Ventures. www.invaluable.com
Revolution Foods, an Oakland, Calif.-based provider of fresh meals to school cafeterias (and prepackaged meals via supermarkets), has raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding fromRevolution Growth (no prior relation between the two groups). Trevi Therapeutics Inc., a New Haven, Conn.-based developer of treatments for chronic pruritus conditions, has raised $25 million in Series B funding led by TPG Biotech. The round is tranched out, with a $15 million call-down at closing. www.trevitherapeutics.com

Gild, a San Francisco-based platform for finding and hiring engineers, has raised $13.5 million in Series B funding. Menlo Ventures led the round, and was joined by Globespan Capital Partners, SAP Ventures and Correlation Ventures. www.gild.com
TrialScope, a Jersey City, N.J.-based provider of clinical trial transparency and compliance solutions, has raised $10 million in new VC funding. Edison Ventures led the round, and was joined by Dublin Capital Partners and NewSpring Capital. American Securities is in “advanced talks” to acquire Emerald Performance Materials LLC, a Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based specialty chemicals company, from Sun Capital Partners for more than $1 billion, according to Reuters. www.emeraldmaterials.com
The Carlyle Group has “entered into exclusive negotiations” to acquire a 75% stake in Homair Vacances (Paris: ALHOM), a French mobile home operator, from Montefiore Investment (which would reinvest as a minority shareholder), according to the FT. www.homair.com

Golden Gate Capital has completed its previously-announced sale of restaurant chain On TheBorder Mexican Grill & Cantina to Argonne Capital Group and an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group. IPOs
Travelport, an Atlanta-based online travel commerce marketplace owned by The Blackstone Group, has filed for a $100 million IPO (likely a placeholder figure). It plans to trade under ticker symbol TVPT, with Morgan Stanley listed as left lead underwriter. The company reports $95 million in net income for 2013 on around $2.03 billion in revenue. In addition to Blackstone, Travelport shareholders include Technology Crossover Ventures, One Equity Partners and Morgan Stanley. www.travelport.com
CareDx (f.k.a. XDx), a Brisbane, Calif.-based developer of a diagnostic surveillance solution for heart transplant recipients, has filed for a $50 million IPO. It plans to trade on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol CDNA, with Piper Jaffray and Leerink Partners serving as lead underwriters. The company reports a $3.5 million net loss on around $22.1 million in revenue for 2013. CareDx had raised over $120 million in VC funding from such firms as Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (17% pre-IPO stake), TPG Biotech (16.5%), Sprout Group (11.1%), Intel Capital (10.2%), Burrill & Co. Markit Ltd., a London-based provider of financial information services, has set its IPO terms to 45.71 million shares being offered at between $23 and $25 per share. It would have an initial market cap of approximately $4.25 billion, were it to price in the middle of its range. The company plans to trade on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol MRKT, with BofA Merrill Lynch is listed as left lead underwriter. Markit reports $948 million in 2013 revenue, compared to $861 million in revenue for 2012. Aduro BioTech has AMS (SWX: AMS) has agreed to acquire AppliedSensor, a Germany–based provider of solid-state chemical gas sensor solutions, from Verdane Capital. No pricing terms of the all-cash deal were disclosed. www.ams.com

Dai-ichi Life Co., a Japanese life insurance company, has agreed to buy Birmingham, Ala.-basedProtective Life Corp.
