Arsenal Capital Partners has acquired the global colorants business of German conglomerate Evonik Industries. No financial terms were disclosed. The Evonik colorants business generated 2011 revenue of around €130 million. www.evonik.com

Dispensing Dynamics International, a portfolio company of private equity firm Kinderhook Industries, has acquired The Colman Group Inc., an Elkhorn, Wis.-based distributor of foodservice and janitorial products. No financial terms were disclosed. www.kinderhook.com

Equinox said that it is interested in acquiring an “important” piece of the 15% stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena that is being sold by the Italian lender’s primary shareholder, according to Reuters.

General Atlantic has agreed to acquire a 30% stake in the online classified advertising business of German publisher Axel Springer AG. The deal is valued at €697 million, including €237 million in equity.www.generalatlantic.com

Marlin Equity Partners has acquired MCA Solutions, a Philadelphia-based provider of service planning and optimization software solutions and services. No financial terms were disclosed. MCA will be merged with existing Marlin portfolio company Servigistics, and had raised VC funding from Battery Ventures,Longworth Venture Partners and Ben Franklin Technology Partners. www.marlinequity.com

Nelson-Miller Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of user-identification and product identification solutions, has acquired Chicago-based Delta Technologies. No financial terms were disclosed. Nelson-Miller is owned by Superior Capital Partners. www.superiorfund.com

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) have formed a partnership to invest in mineral interests and overriding royalty interests in U.S. oil and gas basins. Each firm will commit and initial $250 million toward the partnership, with Chesapeake to source, acquire and manage the royalty investment opportunities. KKR’s investment comes through both its fund affiliates and KKR Financial Holdings (NYSE: KFN). www.kkr.com
