TPG Capital reportedly is interested in a pair of distressed investments. First, Reuters reports that the firm “is willing to invest about $1 billion in Japan’s Olympus Corp in a joint deal with Sony Corp or another suitor circling the scandal-hit firm.” TPG also is said to be considered an offer to buy American Airlines out of bankruptcy, according to the WSJ.

Petro Harvester Oil and Gas, an oil-focused exploration and production company formed by TPG Capital, has acquired 138 operated wells in 29 producing oil and gas fields from Denbury Resources Inc. (NYSE: DNR). No financial terms were disclosed. www.petroharvester.com

Kelso Place Asset Management has invested an undisclosed amount in luxury fashion brand Nicole Farhi, from existing company investor OpenGate Capital.
