A new survey charts the behavior of iPhone owners who use their apps 84 minutes per day
Appsfire‘s Ouriel Ohayon has put together an infographic, copied in full below the fold, based on data from more than 1,000 Apple (AAPL) iOS devices registered and synchronized with his application discovery service.
The results, he says, should settle once and for all the debate about “who wins” — web apps or native apps (the kind sold on the App Store). Winner, for now: native apps.
But they also say a lot about how this particular group of (presumably) heavy-duty iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners spend their time.
Among his findings:
- Median number of apps downloaded from App Store: 88, in addition to the 20 that come pre-installed. That’s considerably more apps than most surveys find.
- Median time spent using apps: 84 minutes a day.
- 12% of that time is spent on a browser; the rest is divided between mail (9%), telephony (32%) and other (47%).
- Of that 47%, roughly one third is spent playing games, or less than 10 minutes a day.
