Another Android flagship phone will be first to use T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.

T-Mobile launched the first Android mobile phone, the G1 or HTC Dream, on October 28, 2008.  It was put out to pasture last month but it looks like T-Mobile has something to fill that void.

T-Mobile has put up a teaser site for a new ‘G2’.

The site only says that the G2 will be the first phone on T-Mobile’s new (can’t call it 4G) HSPA+ network with “4G speeds”.  HSPA+, also known as Evolved High-Speed Packet Access, has been in use around the world since 2008 but T-Mobile is the first company to bring the technology to the US.  Canada’s Rogers, Bell and Telus networks also use HSPA+ where users can get up to 21Mbps (theoretical) download speeds.

From the looks of the rendering, the phone could it be the dual core 1.2GHz  HTC Glacier otherwise known as Project Emerald. Somehow I think T-Mobile will drop some more clues in the weeks ahead.
