the science behind climate change is not a hoax. We have to take combustion engine vehicles off the road as rapidly as we can. Some scientists say that this new commitment to the environment is vital as the world is nearing a climate tipping point. Scientists have warned us that we need to cut global greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050 which is a very short amount of time. Luckily, we have a great technology available to us for electrifying transportation sector, which is, uh either through battery electric vehicles or potentially through fuel cell vehicles. We can have transportation that has no emissions from the tailpipes, which means that as long as your power grid is clean, your transportation sector can be clean. Our challenge now is to figure out how we can adopt this technology fast enough to meet the deadlines that we have identified from the global science. The future of mobility is electricity. It's a matter of investing in the right type of energy production. If we're able to focus the strength of the sun, renewables, wind and other new technologies, that's where we're gonna be able to go ahead and power the transportation system in the future. I think there are three key barriers that policymakers need to focus on right now to make sure that we're ready for the transition that's already underway. One. We need the electric vehicle charging infrastructure that is built out to We need to make these cars affordable for all classes of consumers. And three, we need to make sure that we are investing in the domestic manufacturing capacity that we're going to need to produce these cars here in America with good, high paying jobs. How do we get the cost of ownership down? How do we make it so that they can try out an indie with low commitment, and if it doesn't work for their day to day life, they can maybe opt out of it. How do we make it so that charging stations are ubiquitous, So just like you see them on the rest stops in the freeway and you see them in every corner. You see easy charging stations, so it's about solving how we make Easy's work for people in their everyday life. They're actually lower cost of ownership for people to own. There's less servicing, no expensive exhaust systems fuel injection system. But I don't think people are aware of this. So there has to be effort in awareness. They have to be effort for infrastructure. There has to be effort and battery development. And it's, uh, effort that works with, um, with government and everybody working towards this planet friendly future. Did you know that Norway sells way more electric cars per capita than the US Norway? Mm, Well, I won't stand for many other countries have already embraced this transition. The United Kingdom, for example, is going to adopt a 2030 goals to hit 100% sales of electric vehicles in China. They have been pouring resources into their capacities to build electric vehicles. Uh, and batteries. There's other countries outside the U. S that are further along in the journey. What I will say. I do believe the elements are set up in the U. S. Right now to make the most progress in this. What's happening now is we're seeing it across the board. We're going to see those incentives from the bio administration to literally buy new vehicles, um, and have those subsidized by the government. We're also seeing an increase in oil prices, which again makes the value proposition for the consumer on a day to day basis. When there, Um really, um you know, comparing apples to apples and what it's gonna cost them to drive that mile. Remember, at $4 gas and electricity at your home, um, you're looking at roughly 2025 cents on the dollar, Um, using electricity, versus, um, using gasoline. The people who work at some of these companies. When? When we see a change in technology, um, they have to go ahead and adapt shell. Um, bp, um, they're pivoting. They're looking total. They're looking at other areas to get into because they know the future of, of of, you know, fueling, um, local transportation system is not what they're doing today. Um, some of these companies will be gone as the United States, Mrs this window of opportunity to invest in our future. Now we're not going to be competitive. We're gonna wind up being reliant on imports of foreign cars or foreign batteries or form supply of critical minerals for those batteries. Our decisions today are having a huge impact on what's to come. So the transition to electric vehicles is happening. We should make it happen as fast as possible, and we should do it in a way that opens the doors of accessibility to everybody in America.
