Amazon is in hot water for listing a series of products bearing a slavery themed slogan. The items include t- shirts, baby bibs, and mugs, among others and were modeled by young kids. The products, which were listed by third party sellers, have since been pulled from the site. Two charities, Anti- Slavery International And the International Justice Mission UK say selling these items trivializes the fight to end modern slavery. According to Reuters IJM UK CO David Westlake said, children the same age as those modeling the t- shirts will be forced to work long hours for no pay in desperate conditions, where Where starvation, beatings, and sleep deprivation are common. An Amazon spokesperson issued a statement confirming the products are no longer available, and noted, all marketplace sellers must follow our selling guidelines, and those who don't, will be subject to action, including potential removal of their account.
