What is work-life balance?

"I don't think there's such a thing as work-life balance," says Crunch Fitness CEO Jim Rowley. "I think work-life balance is for somebody who's not fully committed. It depends on what your 'why' is. If your 'why' is really purposeful, and goal-oriented, you're gonna find an imbalance in pursuit of that. Nobody ever had a perfect balance in pursuit of something great. You're either all in, or you're somewhat in, or you're not in at all."

How to balance work and life

Crunch Fitness CEO Jim Rowley tells Fortune he wakes up at 6:30 a.m. and spends the day mixing work, physical activity, and rest. He does not balance work and life by segmenting his life, but in some ways is always working, while still prioritizing time for rest, reflection, and quality time with family.
