Our Experience with Ritual Synbiotic+

Ritual’s Synbiotic+ is a blend of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics that includes two of the most clinically researched and studied strains: Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis. It’s a great 3-in-1 supplement with a hint of mint, making it pleasant to ingest.

What We Liked 

Here’s what our tester rated highly after trying Ritual’s Synbiotic+.

• First impressions (5 out of 5): “I love the packaging–it’s a matte gray bottle with a classy font. Their supplement facts and instructions are clearly labeled and easy to understand,” said Kate.
• Overall experience (5 out of 5): Kate likes the formulation of this 3-in-1 prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotic. Both bacteria strains in the formula have been well-studied and are known to be well tolerated. The prebiotics, PreforPro, has been shown to support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut and the postbiotic (Tributyrin) is a short chain fatty acid that can help maintain a healthy gut lining.

What We Would Change

Here’s what Kate would improve about Ritual’s Synbiotic+.

• Ease of reading instructions (3 out of 5): While the instructions are easy to understand, the text is white on a gray bottle, and with little contrast, our tester found it hard to read.
• Swallowability (3 out of 5): Kate thinks that Synbiotic+’s double encapsulated pill makes it a little bit harder to swallow. It’s enterically coated too, so it’s a little bulkier than a regular tablet or pill. 
• Taste (3 out of 5): The capsule has a minty taste, and per Kate, there’s also “an overwhelming mint smell when you open the bottle.” The taste was pleasant to her, but if you don’t like mint flavors, the scent and flavor may be overwhelming.
