Some Thursday night games, admittedly, are not what you would call must-see TV. But this week’s match-up of the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles has all the earmarks of an epic battle.

The two teams are neck-and-neck for leadership of the NFC East, far ahead of the division’s other teams. And while the Commanders are a team mastering the rush this year, the Eagles defense has been especially good at shutting down rushes—and has only allowed one passing touchdown since their Week 5 bye.

The Eagles have five victories in a row under their belt. The Commanders, however, are one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season, and this first meeting of the year between them and the Eagles will be a chance to test their mettle.

Here’s how to watch this week’s matchup and what you can expect from Thursday night games tonight (and in the weeks to come).
