While the stars of the Republican party gather in Milwaukee Tuesday, the stars of Major League Baseball will be holding a convention of their own 1,000 miles to the southwest.

The 2024 MLB All-Star Game is here, marking the halfway point of the season and a chance for baseball’s best to show off to fans. Held this year at Globe Life Field in Houston, the 94th All-Star Game will include 37 first-time All-Stars.

The National League is the defending champion, having beaten the American League last year by a score of 3-2, something of a rarity since 2012.

Thinking of taking a night off from politics? Here’s all the information you need.

When does the 2024 MLB All-Star Game take place?

The 2024 MLB All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

How can I watch the 2024 MLB All-Star Game?

Fox will host this year’s game, with coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Can I watch the 2024 MLB All-Star Game for free?

Yes. Since Fox is the broadcast host, you’ll be able to watch over the air. Over-the-air antennas usually range in cost between $10 and $20. To ensure you’re getting the most reliable signal, get a good HD antenna and test it in multiple locations in your home.

What’s the best way to watch the 2024 MLB All-Star Game online?

There are a lot of options.

MLB.TV

The league’s official streaming service is the best way to catch the action. MLB.tv offers a seven-day free trial, after which you’ll pay $30 per month or $150 for the season.

Fubo TV

This sports-focused cord-cutting service carries broadcast networks in most markets. There’s a seven-day free trial, followed by monthly charges of $75 and up, depending on the channels you choose.

Disney+

Disney’s bundle of Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ no longer has a free trial, so you’ll have to pay $15 per month for all three combined (or $25 per month for no ads on Hulu).

Including Live TV in the bundle bumps the price to $77 per month ($90 with no ads).

Hulu with Live TV

The free trial on this service is no longer offered, as well. It will now cost you $77 per month.

YouTubeTV

After up to a two-week trial, you can expect monthly charges of $73.

Sling TV

Dish Network’s Sling lower-tiered “Orange” plan will run you $40 per month. Adding the more comprehensive “Blue” plan bumps the cost to $55 per month. The seven-day free trial has disappeared, but the cord-cutting service is offering 50% off of the first month’s bill.

DirecTV Stream

Formerly known as DirecTV Now, AT&T TVNow and AT&T TV, this oft-renamed streaming service will run you $75 per month and up after the free trial option.

Who are the starting pitchers in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game?

Pirates rookie Paul Skenes will start for the National League. T he Orioles’ Corbin Burnes

Does the All-Star Game decide home-field advantage for the World Series?

No, but it used to. Up until 2017, the All-Star Game had a bit more gravitas, but the Collective Bargaining Agreement that year made it an exhibition game. The team with the better overall record will be the home team when the World Series gets underway in a few months.

Which league has won the most All-Star Games?

The American League has a slight advantage over the National League, with 47 wins and 44 losses. There have been two ties in the history of the game.

What are the starting lineups for both leagues in the 2024 All-Star Game?

National League:

  1. Ketel Marte, 2B (AZ)
  2. Shohei Ohtani, DH (LAD)
  3. Trea Turner, SS (PHI)
  4. Bryce Harper 1B (PHI)

  6. Christian Yelich, RF (MIL)
