It looks like there will be a lot of Echo Dots and Amazon Fire TV Sticks in stockings this year. Amazon has announced that the Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick were the most popular items sold this year between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
According to an Amazon representative, over the “Turkey 5,” the Echo Dot and Fire Stick were not only the best-selling Amazon devices on the site, they were the best-selling products “from any manufacturer in any category across all of Amazon.com.”
Customers purchased 2.7 times as many Fire TV Sticks this year than they did last year. The device continues to be the top media streaming product in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and Japan across all retailers.
The Echo Dot was also the best-selling device at Whole Foods Market over the weekend.
In addition to big sales, the Echo Dot also came in handy over the weekend for meal preparations. Amazon says that customers asked Alexa to set nearly twice as many timers on Thanksgiving Day as any other day. The most popular Thanksgiving Day timers were for “turkey,” followed by “stuffing,” “potato,” and “pie.”
