President Donald Trump is slated to give his first major address to both chambers of Congress on Tuesday night.
While speaking to lawmakers from the Senate and the House, Trump is expected to address tax cuts, regulatory and tax reform, job creation, the proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and a replacement of former President Barack Obama’s health care law, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters. Spicer also said the theme of the address will be “the renewal of the American spirit.”
Trump’s address comes after a rocky start to his presidency, including the bumpy rollout of his controversial executive order, now blocked by the courts, that sought to ban travel to the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority countries, as well as the resignation of Trump’s first National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn.
