For anyone who had Apple’s Beats X earbuds on their Christmas list, there’s some bad news: The product is unlikely to ship in time for the holidays.
The earbuds, which were first announced at September’s iPhone event, were slated to be shipped in “Fall 2016.” But according to an email from B&H Photo obtained by 9to5Mac, the shipments are now estimated to take “at least 2-3 months”—pushing the product’s shipment date to sometime in February or March.
B&H is an authorized Apple (AAPL) reseller, so their prediction is a relatively trustworthy one, the Verge notes. However, Apple has yet to change the shipment date on its website, which says the product will be available “this fall.”
Apple has also delayed the release of its other new wireless earbuds, the AirPods, due to “technical issues“—meaning this product is a doubtful holiday gift, too.
Apple acquired Beats in 2014 for over $3 billion.
Apple could not immediately be reached for comment.
