Alex Adelman is figuring things out in a hurry. In a few short years, the 27-year-old founder of Cosmic has built a potentially game-changing e-commerce company, made Target its retail partner, and sold it to lifestyle media company PopSugar Inc.
Cosmic produces a shopping cart that enables consumers to purchase products from multiple retailers in a single transaction using just one login. The idea is that the shopping cart will live on PopSugar and other third-party publishers. There is no set launch date yet.
Adelman joined Fortune for a new weekly series called Founder Friday to discuss the challenges for first-time entrepreneurs. For the full interview, watch the video above. For a sneak peek, check this out:
Fortune: What keeps you up at night?
Adelman: There’s more competition than ever in the space. So seeing people with more money come at the same problem, it keeps me up at night. Even with more resources, and more partners, and growing faster than ever and more people to solve those problems, it’s still difficult because we’re going up against these giant companies that are throwing 10 times the amount of resources at the same problem.
