Donald Trump has won the Republican Presidential Primaries in Illinois and North Carolina, according to CNN projections, continuing a strong Tuesday night for the New York businessman in his quest for the White House.
Trump also claimed a big win in Florida earlier in the evening, and he is leading in Missouri, where the vote is still too close to call. Trump did endure a tough loss in Ohio, where he finished behind sitting Governor John Kasich.
Still, taking Illinois is a big win for Trump. It is a Midwestern state, outside of the South, where Trump has made most of his bones in this election.
Though Kasich’s win makes things a bit tricky, Trump is clearly solidifying his place as the presumptive Republican nominee.
