With Martin Casado moving on to a new gig at Andreessen Horowitz, VMware has named Dr. Rajiv Ramaswami to lead its networking and security business.
Ramaswami who will be general manager and executive vice president of that unit, was most recently executive vice president for infrastructure and networking for Broadcom (BRCM). He also spent time at Cisco Systems (CSCO).
In a statement, VMware (VMW) chief executive Pat Gelsinger said Ramaswami brings with him “operational expertise coupled with an intense knowledge and understanding of the networking industry.”
