Good morning, Broadsheet readers! Birchbox’s co-founder has a new job, there’s now a Yelp of fertility treatments, and a Kentucky legislator gets hilariously creative. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

EVERYONE'S TALKING

• Don't get mad... Kentucky state rep Mary Lou Marzian, a Democrat, responded to a sexist new law requiring women to have a medical consultation 24 hours before having an abortion with a proposal of her own. Marzian's bill would require men looking to obtain erectile dysfunction drugs to make two doctor visits, get a letter from his spouse providing consent, and provide a sworn statement—delivered with his hand on a Bible—that he would use the meds only to have sex with his spouse.  New York Times

ALSO IN THE HEADLINES

• Out of the box. Hayley Barna, co-founder and former co-CEO of beauty commerce service BirchBox, is joining investment firm First Round Capital as a venture partner. Barna stepped down from Birchbox last summer.  Fortune

• Fertile ground. FertilityIQ, a review site for fertility doctors and clinics, launches today. It was co-founded by Deborah Anderson-Bialis and Jake Anderson, a wife-and-husband team who were inspired by their own frustrating experience seeking fertility treatment.  Fortune

• Water warrior. Meet Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the pediatrician and professor turned whistleblower, who brought the world's attention to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Elle

• Awards aftermath. The Grammies may be over, but the conversation is still going. Of note: Taylor Swift has been called out for the fact that 17 people on her 19-person production team are men, while critics called Lady Gaga’s tribute to David Bowie a "6-minute Intel commercial."

• Do like the Danes. A new study looking at workplace benefits in Europe and the U.S. finds that Denmark is the best place for workers, thanks to benefits like mandatory 18-week paid maternity leave and 25 days vacation days per year. The U.S., on the other hand, came in dead last. Fortune

MOVERS AND SHAKERS: Former Intel president Renee James is joining asset manager The Carlyle Group as an operating executive to support the telecommunications, media and technology sector team. Victory Park Capital announced that Upacala Mapatuna has joined as chief investment officer. Upacala was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

• Out of the hot seat? The movement to impeach Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has lost momentum. However, the two-year probe into the corrupt practices of the country's elite—including many in Rousseff's inner circle—continues. Bloomberg

• STEM fail! A new study finds that biology undergrads asked to name classmates with a strong "understanding of classroom material” over-nominated their male peers, choosing them over better-performing women.  The Atlantic

• Oh hi, Hijarbie. Despite Mattel’s recent efforts to make Barbie more diverse—including new skin tones, body shape, and cultural dress options—the one thing that she never wears is a hijab. So one Instagram user took it upon herself to create “Hijarbie,” a Muslim version of the doll that’s quickly gaining popularity on social media.  Al Jazeera

• A new friend. Fox News Channel announced that Ainsley Earhardt, who has worked at the network since 2007, will will replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck as co-host on Fox & Friends.  EW

QUOTE

I think I did not do enough listening, especially to the people who were on the masthead and were part of my team, and I regret that.
